Board of Education Special Meetings Scheduled

The Board of Education is scheduled to meet Monday, January 5, 2015, and Tuesday, January 6, 2015, to interview potential superintendent candidates in executive session.  The meeting on Monday, January 5, 2015, will be held at 5:30 P.M. at the D.H. Robbins Elementary School.  The meeting on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, will be held at 5:30 P.M. at the O.E. Campus.  The agenda for both meetings can be seen here.

New York State Education Department Initiates Special Education Review
The New York State Education Department P-12: Office of Special Education has initiated a Special Education Quality Assurance (SEQA) Special Education Programs and Services Focused Review in the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville School District during the 2014 - 2015 school  year.  The purpose of this review is to assess the district’s compliance with selected federal and State laws and regulations governing the education of students with disabilities.


The review will be conducted by the SEQA Eastern Regional Office and will include representatives from the school district.  The review process will involve a review of school records of a representative sample of students with disabilities, classroom visitations and interviews.  In addition, meetings of the committee on special education will be observed.  Further information may be obtained by contacting the SEQA Eastern Regional Office at (518) 486-6366 and/or by contacting Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville School District at (518) 568-2310.

As a reminder, the OESJ CSD will be on a holiday break from Monday, December 22, 2014, through Friday, January 2, 2015.  Students last day of school before the holiday break will be Friday, December 19, 2014, and students will resume school on Monday, January 5, 2015.

The Board of Education Curriculum and Instruction Committee scheduled for Thursday, December 18, 2014, is cancelled.  In its place, the Board of Education Finance Committee will meet in the OE Campus Conference Room 313 on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at 5 P.M.

D.H. Robbins Elementary School First Annual Turkey Trot a Success

All after-school activities for Wednesday, December 10, 2014, have been cancelled, including the D.H. Robbins Elementary Holiday Concert and the Girls’ Basketball Games at Spa Catholic.  The D.H. Robbins Elementary Holiday Concert will now be held on Monday, December 15, 2014, at 6:30 P.M.

2014-2015 Sectional Champions to be Honored at Thursday Night Home Opener
During Thursday night's opening home Boys’ Basketball games in the High School Gym, OESJ CSD will be honoring last year's Sectional Champion teams: Girls’ Soccer, Girls’ Softball, and Boys’ Baseball during halftime of the JV Basketball Game. In addition, between the JV and Varsity Basketball games, Congressman Gibson is slated to be here to help us dedicate the United States Flag that was flown over the Washington Capitol last year for OESJ School District.  The JV Basketball Game will start at 5:30.  Everyone is encouraged to attend to help honor our teams.
