Community Focus Group to be Formed

The OESJ Central School District School Board is seeking applicants to serve on a Community Focus Group.  The purpose of the group is to provide representation for all residents, taxpayers and stakeholders of the school district.  The Focus Group will convene with an “outside guest” for a scheduled meeting.  Read the message in its entirety here.

SES Study Team Documents Published

The Oppenheim-Ephratah St. Johnsville Central School District School Board engaged the SES Study team last fall to conduct a comprehensive study of the school district’s finances, economies of scale, an enrollment study and a capacity study.  Read more on the process and the studies, and view the studies in their entirety, here.

Community Meeting Scheduled

There will be a community meeting next Tuesday, March 31st at 6:30 PM in the high school auditorium.


Dr. Paul Seversky will be presenting the results of his findings, "Are there options to the current practice that might provide more effective ways or patterns to organize ow the PreK-12 program is implemented/delivered over the next three years?".


The entire study will be posted on the district website on Wednesday, March 25th. Hard copies of the study will be available at the presentation.

Mohawk Valley FFA Members Earn Spot at State Competition

Deadline Approaching to Order High School Yearbooks

The deadline to order a High School Yearbook with personalized name and icon on the cover is Monday, March 30. Paper order forms can be found in the Main Office and should be returned to Mrs. Goderie. Students can also order online through ybpay.lifetouch.com.


Books are $40, and it is $5 extra to add a name, $2 extra for each icon design. An exclusive discount of $5 off is offered for seniors now until March 30th!

OESJ High School Drama Club Performance Scheduled

The OESJ Central High School Drama Club presents “The High Schooler’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Bryan Starchmanon Wednesday and Thursday April 1st and 2nd at 6:30PM in the high school auditorium.


Cast members include Stephanie Arndt, Rebecca Bruce, Alexsandra Dobson, Jack Dudar, Aron Frasier, Amanda Martin, Marissa Nellis, David Rackmyre III, Alix Sowle, Hannah Sowle, Marrina White, Laiken Whittredge and Grace Yezierski.


Tickets are $3.00 and can be purchased at the door.

Middle School Concert and AMPS Chicken Barbecue Scheduled

On Friday, March 27, 2015, the Middle School "Best Selfie" Mash Concert will be performed at the OE Campus at 1:00 P.M. as an assembly, and 6:00 P.M. for the concert.  Prior to the concert, the AMPs will sponsor a Chicken Barbecue in the OE Campus Cafeteria on from 3:00 to 5:30 P.M. while supplies last.  Chicken dinners are $8.50; chicken halves or children’s meals are $6.

D.H. Robbins Elementary Begins “Commit to Be Fit” Month

D.H. Robbins Elementary School “Commit To Be Fit” Wellness Team Initiative during March which is National Nutrition month will focus on nutritious eating and daily physical activity as habits which promote good health. Mohawk Valley FFA Members Earn High Rankings at District Career Development Events

Girls’ Varsity Basketball Game Closes a Successful Season

The OESJ Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team had their first winning season since 2001, and the most wins since the 1997 season.  The team went 12-7 in Coach Marchese's first year as Varsity Head Coach.  In addition, Rylie Smith had a 400+ point season, scored 1212 career points and was named WAC North Co-MVP.  Congratulations to the team on a great season!

OESJ Boys' Sectional Basketball Game
The OESJ Boys' Varsity Basketball team will play their second sectional game against Lake George on Friday, February 27, at 5 PM at the Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) Gym.  There will be an admission charge for the game.

Pre-Kindergarten and New Kindergarten Student Registration

The OESJ Central School District announces registration for Pre-Kindergarten and new Kindergarten students.  The district will begin to mail out registration packets to families that they know have Pre-K aged children during the week of March 2.

A child who turns 4 years of age prior to December 1, 2015, is eligible to enroll in Pre-K.  Please contact Julie Taylor at the D.H. Robbins Elementary School, 518-568-7023, or Anna O’Connell at the OESJ Elementary/Middle School, 518-568-2014, ext. 104, to obtain a registration packet.

Date Change for OE Campus Active Parenting Now Workshops

In the months of March and April, Catholic Charities will be hosting a series of workshops at the Oppenheim Campus for parents of students aged 5 - 12.  The dates of the workshops for the Oppenheim Campus have changed, so please consult the flyer for the latest information available here.  The series of workshops to be held at the D.H. Robbins Elementary School will continue as previously scheduled.

OESJ Holds Spelling Bee

OESJ Boys' and Girls' Sectional Basketball Games Scheduled

The OESJ Boys' Varsity Basketball team will play their first sectional game on Tuesday, February 24, at 7 PM at home in the OESJ High School Gym. The OESJ Girls' Varsity Basketball team will play their first sectional game also on Tuesday, February 24, versus Mekeel Christian Academy at 6 PM in Scotia.
